Potassium bromide
Potassium bromide, KBr is an inorganic chemical compound belonging to the group of bromides. It is a hydrobromic acid and potassium salt. This relationship is used, inter alia, in medicine, where it is a source of bromide ions, as well as in IR spectroscopy in the process of manufacturing optical elements and a center for samples (the so-called “KBr pellets”) due to low absorption of IR radiation.
