What is zinc sulfate?
Zinc sulphate, ZnSO4 is an inorganic chemical compound – a salt of sulfuric acid and zinc. It has the form of white, odorless crystals that easily dissolve in water. It is one of the most important compounds of zinc, which is widely used, for example, in the form of an electrolyte component during electrolytic zinc coating.
The zinc sulphate solution is the most important intermediate in the zinc production process using the hydroelectric metallurgical method.
Zinc sulphate can be obtained by reacting sulfuric acid with metallic zinc, its oxide, or salts of volatile acids. Most often it is in the form of the ZnSO4 salt • 7H2O.
