Sodium percarbonate has strong oxidizing properties. Reacts in water – as a result of the decomposition, hydrogen peroxide (oxygen, water and sodium carbonate) is formed, which gives a cleaning and bleaching effect (suitable for cleaning and washing).
This chemical reaction is used by almost all companies producing washing powders, cleaners and dishwasher tablets.
Washing
Two tablespoons of sodium percarbonate should be added for washing. In this way, you can protect white and light fabrics against yellowing and graying.
Sodium percarbonate perfectly removes difficult deposits and stains, for example from coffee, tea, wine and vegetables. To obtain the best effect, wash at a minimum temperature of 40 ° C or wash the fabric for several hours in a solution of several tablespoons of sodium percarbonate in 3-5 L of warm water before washing.
Warning! Sodium percarbonate brightens colors – is suitable for fabrics that do not lose their color. Do not use it for washing silk and wool.
Surface cleaning
Sodium percarbonate is good for cleaning stains and dirt from many surfaces. Its solution (1 tablespoon for 1 liter of warm water) can be used to clean curtains, white clothes, rugs and curtains.
