Magnesium sulphate is an inorganic chemical compound – a salt of sulfuric acid and magnesium. It is also known as Epsom salt (bitter salt, English salt, Epoonian salt, Epsomit, Epsom salt) – this name came from the town of Epsom in central England, where this compound was obtained by evaporation of mineral water. Appearance this substance resembles ordinary table salt (sodium chloride), however, has a bitter taste (hence the name bitter salt), has no odor and has a pH neutral for the skin.

Examples of applications:

• cleaning agent – ideal for cleaning basins, tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, grouts, etc. To prepare it, mix in equal proportions magnesium sulfate with dishwashing liquid and create a paste.

Magnesium sulphate in the garden:

• as a fertilizer – effective for foliar fertilization with magnesium by spraying,

• as a repellent for insects – for spraying garden and balcony plants,

• as a conditioner for plants – fertilizes the soil; excellent for conifers and lawns, as well as in the form of fertilizer for garden and potted flowers and vegetables. Use a 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt per 2 L of water. It prevents browning of lawns and conifers,

• as a repellent on snails – salt should be poured in the area of presence or threatened by the appearance of snails (works similarly to boraks on ants).
