Potassium bromide
Potassium bromide, KBr - an inorganic chemical compound from the group of bromides, a hydrobromic acid and potassium salt. The compound is used, among others in medicine as a source of bromide ion and in IR spectroscopy for the production of optical elements and as a center for samples (the so-called "KBr pellets") due to the low absorption of IR radiation.
