Application
Glycerin, as a good solvent for fats and other lipids, is used in the production of creams, lipsticks and other cosmetic products. It is an important raw material for the synthesis of many diverse chemical compounds, including some types of soaps. In addition to the ability to homogenize the ingredients of cosmetic products, it also has moisturizing properties. In addition, glycerine is used for the production of explosives (in the esterification process, glycerol triazotate is formed), as well as in tanning (it dries the skin due to its strong hygroscopic properties).
In the pharmaceutical, food and leather industries, it is used for the production of: dyes, brake and cooling fluids. Glycerine has been used as an additive to molasses when smoking shisha and for sweetening liqueurs, as well as a component of liquids for filling E-cigarettes.
