Application

Potassium sorbate - an organic chemical compound, the potassium salt of sorbic acid. Its range and properties are almost the same as for sorbic acid, however, the potassium form (and its other salts) is more soluble in water.
Potassium sorbate is used as a preservative.
It applies to, among others cosmetics and cigarettes. This compound is often used together with sodium benzoate.
Potassium sorbate in aquaristics
Potassium sorbate is a product that perfectly preserves liquid aquaristic fertilizers, protects the fertilizer against fungal growth and mold. It should be used together with L-ascorbic acid, which acidifies the fertilizer and prevents the growth of bacteria.
Dosing for fertilizers:
We weigh 0.2 g of potassium sorbate on 500 ml of fertilizer.
Fertilizer maintenance kit: 0.2 gr. potassium sorbate and 0.5 gr. L-ascorbic acid for every 500 ml of fertilizer.
