Usage

Due to its excellent fungicidal properties it is used as a component of fungicides and acidifying preparations. Occurs in mixtures with other acids or is applied on a carrier. It has a very wide application in organic synthesis. In beekeeping, it is used to control the Varroa destructor mite.

Formic acid is also used as a preservative with strong fungicidal properties, at high concentrations and low pH range, its range also includes bacteria.
