It is used as a preservative. It is also used in bleaching straw, in photo baths and in dyeing. It inhibits the growth of mold and bacteria. An excellent antioxidant.
Pyrosulfite is a substance commonly known and used in various industries. It has excellent disinfecting and sterilizing properties, effectively prevents the growth of mold and bacteria.
Application: decontamination and sterilization of all types of wine equipment (balloons, bottles, containers, corks, hoses, etc.). To obtain high-quality, good and aging wine, it should be done in clean and sterile (sanitized) conditions. A potassium metabisulfite solution for disinfecting devices should be prepared just before use, as this solution is an unstable solution and is not re-usable after rinsing. Disinfecting properties are primarily fumes, so when disinfecting balloons or bottles, pour the sodium metabisulfite solution into them and seal them tightly for 5 -15 minutes.
It prevents the growth of bacteria, fungi and wild yeast. Directions for use: Dissolve a dose of pirosulfate in a small amount of wine or must, then add it to the whole and mix.
Stabilization of the setting is added from 5-8 g per 100 l depending on the condition of the must.
Stabilization of young wine, after fermentation, usually after the first wine load in case we want to stop further fermentation - we add 6-10 g per 100 liters, this way we can get light wines.
Before spilling the finished wine into the bottles should be made additional sulphurization, this has an effect on the stabilization and preservation of wine, then we use 6-10 g per 100 liters.
